Environment Project 6th January 2017

January 6th, 2017

10 days away from the deadline, the list of work in which I have to complete would usually be slowly stacking up right now. However this time, I have tried to organise myself so that I would not be rushing all of my work last minute, or stressing out over the next following week.
To do this, I started by making a list of everything I would need to do from now until the deadline. This included sketchbook work, my artist research file, finishing up my animation, annotating the creation of my animation, my evaluation and any little areas in which I could add more information or more detail, if my animation needed it. With this list, I then separated each of these objectives across the days I had left. I feel I put a lot of thought into setting these targets, I tried not to give myself too much work over one day, and set myself enough work that I felt/knew I would be able to accomplish within the day.
As I set my targets on the 4th, the date I got back to college, this is how my time from then till the 16th will be spent:

Wed 4th - In college (meaning I will be working solely on my animation)
Thu 5th - In college
Fri 6th - My artist research file, annotations and Blog
Sat 7th - My artist research file
Sun 8th - My artist research file
Mon 9th - In college
Tue 10th - Blog and my animation
Wed 11th - In college, render my animation and print out screenshots
Thu 12th - In college, add effects to my animation and annotation
Fri 13th - Blog and annotation
Sat 14th - Evaluation
Sun 15th - More life drawings, annotations and refining details in my sketchbook
Mon 16th - DEADLINE, more refinement and making sure that everything is ready for hand-in.

This is a basic outline for my days ahead. As some days are more packed than others, I feel if I do not accomplish something on one of the days, I can still make up for it on one of my lesser packed days. As today is Friday the 6th, and I am writing this blog, I feel I have started as I mean to go on. I believe that this plan is going to be good for me, as long as I do keep motivated and stick to achieving my set targets. If it works out, I will more than likely start doing this more in future projects.

Now that I have gotten all of my planning out of the way, I can now start talking more about my progress on the animation.
Since my first blog publish, I have now finished most of my assets and have started putting them into Cinema 4D. Currently I have 1/3 of my street set up, the couloured version of my world, and it is looking exactly how I had wanted. I am very happy that my assets all work together, I mean this in the sense that they all have the same textures/brush strokes, and all of the colours seem to work together. The only issue with my animation that I have came across so far, is the placement of my sky. As I have created the sky onto a square shaped layer, sometimes when I have positioned the camera as if it were walking down the street, up above, you can see the edge of my asset. This is something that I feel can be easily fixed, I just have to play around with the assets size and position, until I am happy with how it looks.

By the time of my next post, which will hopefully be on Tuesday if I stick to my goal, I hope to be almost finished with my animation. By then I will have all of my assets in Cinema 4D and both of my worlds will be fully set up. If by then I have not already started on filming my animation, I hope that I will be able to start on the Wednesday, when I am back in college, and have it completed by the time I leave. I also hope to have a lot more of my sketchbook work, along with my artist research file, to be done by this time as well.
