Progression Post
What I've completed this week:
- Created both my business cards and book design using the risograph printer.
- I then scanned the design prints then adjusted the colours to match the original prints in photoshop.
- Completed possible layouts for the book and my cards, ready to be reviewed.
- Recently made adjustments to the book that had been suggested - resizing some of the images so that they would fit the whole page.
- Presented my work-related research.
- Written up my research into local and national illustration companies, in a separate file, for my PPD unit.
- Put all of my work together in A2 format, ready to print and put into my handheld portfolio.
What I still need to complete:
- Now that my mother has finished embroidering my design, I need to cut away the excess fabric, make it look presentable and to a professional standard, then take a photo and send it off to the Cheltenham Illustration Awards.
- I will need to include that photo within my handheld portfolio.
- Make one final check that my business cards and book are ready to be sent off to print.
- Print out all the A2 files I had set up for my handheld portfolio.
- Evaluate each project I have completed this work-based learning project - Live Tales, Rabbit Reloaded, Tangled Tales and Hadrian Border Brewery.
- Write up a commentary of my portfolio, describing each piece, my judgement of it, its purpose and the audience it was created for.
- Create a PDF version of my portfolio.
- Evaluate the commercial illustration project, analysing the content I've created, the purpose of it, what I have learnt, and what I could achieve from it.
I need to complete all of these bullet points by the end of this week, as I want to have everything finished before my trip to Berlin. This will mean that I would not have to rush anything once I get back, and I can focus on little refinements if needed, hopefully making me less stressed for the final hand in.
